The position

As the new Purchasing Manager for our Singapore entity, you will be responsible for coordinating, organizing, and overseeing all activities related to the identification, acquisition, and negotiation of goods and services. You will lead the team of Buyers to ensure timely delivery of all materials to our factory. A key focus of this role will be facilitating the transfer of new technologies and products within the group to support the efficient ramp-up of operations in Singapore.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage all conditions to buy the component for our Factory at best prices and quality.
  • Work on forecasts and inventories, keeping an accurate record of the process and analyzing performance.
  • Develop new and existing relationships with suppliers.
  • Develop the tools to manage the demand, forecast, contract, Kanban.
  • Manage/ control the costs in collaboration with the Global sourcing leader.
  • Coordinate with the Buyer team to support the Project and the new products.
  • Improve the overall supply chain performance and look for any possible innovations to the process.
  • Drive the Industrialization to build the new supply chain model on the new products.
  • Manage and minimize the risks (for example operational or reputational) that could affect or interrupt the supply chain.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Educational Background: Ideally a degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, though candidates from other disciplines are also welcome to apply.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 to 8 years in a Purchasing or Procurement role within a manufacturing environment, preferably within a multinational company.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English at a B2 level or higher is required. Proficiency in Chinese is an advantage, especially for communication with counterparts in China.
  • Planning & Time Management: Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively, work under pressure, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines.
  • Problem Solving & Strategic Thinking: Capable of identifying issues, making sound decisions, and thinking both strategically and laterally.
  • Relationship Management: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal departments and with external partners.
