The Position

You will to take ownership of transformer and magnetic component design across our portfolio of mission-critical power solutions. You will be a key member of the Technical Design Leadership Team, driving performance, cost competitiveness, and supplier strategy for magnetic components used in industrial UPS, rectifiers, and energy applications.

The role requires you to be present at one of our locations at least part of the time.

Main Responsibilities

Lead transformer & magnetic design strategy

  • Define and optimize transformer architecture across applications (UPS, rectifiers, hydrogen, etc.).
  • Balance performance, footprint, efficiency, harmonics, and cost.

Drive design optimization & competitiveness

  • Optimize transformer selection.
  • Deliver best-in-class solutions in price, size, losses, and manufacturability.

Own supplier strategy & ROI

  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with magnetic suppliers.
  • Ensure strong ROI through design-to-cost and sourcing levers.

Technical leadership

  • Act as internal reference for magnetic design (LV/MV transformers, chokes).
  • Support complex bids and product development programs.
  • Mentor engineering teams and elevate technical standards.

Cross-functional impact

  • Work closely with R&D, sourcing, operations, and product management.
  • Contribute to portfolio evolution and industrialization.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Electronic Engineering ideally.
  • 7+ years of experience in electromagnetic design, insulation systems, thermal behavior, harmonics.
  • Proven track record in dry-type or power transformers.
  • Ability to translate engineering into cost, margin, and competitiveness impact in a multinational company.
  • Experienced in supplier ecosystems and sourcing strategies.
  • High ownership, strong decision-making capability.
  • Able to operate at both hands-on technical level and strategic level.
  • High-energy, pragmatic, execution-oriented.
